Here are a few more ideas for jobs you can do to work at home or on a self employed basis.

Some are ideal as a method of part time earning and some require a bit more time but they can all provide some useful extra income for the stay at home mom or house husband..

If you already have skills from previous employment or hobbies, you can often put them to good use in earning an income by working from home. Even if you think you don’t have any special skills or abilities, there are still ways in which you can make extra money.

As well as word of mouth, you should print up business cards and leaflets on your computer or get some cheaply made and distribute them in houses, newsagent and post office windows.

Give out leaflets and cards yourself and give them out to family and friends to pass on. Give cards to your customers and ask them to tell their friends. You could offer an introductory discount coupon to new customers and/or a referrers fee to existing customers.

Car Owners

If you own a car, you can often use it to earn some extra income. Don't forget to make sure that your insurance covers you for what you intend to do. If in doubt check with your insurer.

You can do this with your own car, van, motorcycle or bicycle. Unlike the jobs above, the highest demand for courier services is during the day. Jobs vary from short trips across town to round trips of hundreds of miles (although not for bicycle couriers!)

Seasonally, there are opportunities for car owners to distribute local domestic and business directories. Look out for ads in the local paper or call the main directory/catalogue companies who should be able to put you in touch with your local distribution manager.

Computer related Opportunities

You have access to a computer or you wouldn’t be reading this! But how can you use your computer to make money? If you take care to avoid the work at home scams and cons, such as envelope stuffing you’ll find there are a number of ways to make money online.

Are you particularly numerate or literate? Do you have design skills? Are you well organised and methodical?

Organising - If you have secretarial or book-keeping skills you could look at working for small businesses in report-writing, book keeping or acting as a ‘virtual secretary’ – many small businesses have a requirement for someone to field calls and emails and keep the accounts in order. Further opportunities for working from home on your PC are database entry and management.

Buying and Selling - If you need to raise money in a hurry, remember that one person's junk is anothers treasure so consider getting rid of some of your excess clutter on ebay.
